As I mentioned in comments earlier there was another death which hit the news because of the involvement of IRC. And here it is.
Skot wanted to use his telescope but the street lights were too bright to let him see the stars. So he decided to 'fix' the lights. Unfortunately for Skot 'fixing' meant tampering with the power supply to turn them off. Silly boy.
Appropriately, but not exactly lterally, his last words in the log were 'brb'.
