Toon Ultras

Another campaign is underway to bring the noise back to St James' Park and this one might just have a chance of success. The Toon Ultras want to set up a singing section at the back of Level 7 in the Leazes End right next to the away fans. This should be achievable as there are plenty of seats up there that aren't sold to season ticket holders so a good concentration of singing fans is definitely possible. They are also going to be producing flags and banners to hype it up some more. I just hope we don't end up with some continental style trumpet playing twat.

My season ticket is in the Gallowgate so I'm pretty much as far away from there as you can get which is a bit of a twat but tickets for cup games aren't included so I might just give that a go. Anyone fancy taking in the Coventry game in the Leazes?

I applaud their efforts, but am I alone in thinking that both the name and logo are rather badly thought out? ie rather hoolie-esque and easily "mininterpreted" by a tabloid newspaper on a slow news day? (As if the fine upstanding gentlefolk of that valued third estate, the British Press, would ever do such a thing.)

"Third Estate" being, of course, the deliberate mistake. Did you spot it? Well done!

(okay, okay... my excuse is I'm (still) sick, and I'm off back to bed for that very reason.)

I thought they might get away with the Ultra bit but the logo is a bit militant. But fsck the press - they hate us anyway.

Anyone else wanting tickets? They are on sale now so we need to move if we want to go.

I just don't believe in giving 'em ammunition...

Hm... how much is the game? 20 quid?

I'm tempted...
