Any one want a DS today..?

Being a valued Nintendo customer I can get my DS VIP pack from today from the stars catalogue. For £129.99, this special pack includes:
  • Nintendo DS system

  • Super Mario 64 DS (pre-release version)(rated '3+')

  • Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (Demo version) (rated '12+')**

  • Wario Ware Touched! (Demo version) (Rated '3+')

  • Exclusive Nintendo DS T-shirt

**The wireless multiplayer function in Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (Demo version) will not be compatible with the final European version of the game.
Europe gets the Nintendo treatment again.

Just as a comparison, current US pricing on a DS with Metroid Prime demo is approx £72.22 and £16.66 for Mario 64DS. No Wario demo or t-shirt deals available in the states that I've seen.

So:
£72.22 + £16.66 = £88.88 + VAT@17.5% = £104.43

So, for a delayed launch, a t-shirt and a demo cart we get to pay 25% more. Lucky us!

Re: Metroid Prime demo -- I believe it's the same for the demo/final versions in the US too -- the demo isn't compatible for online play with the final version due to being early code.

Ah.. I read that wrong. Anyway.. I need a Rip Off Britain icon there then.. ;)

From what I've seen, it's the whole of Europe paying more than the US/Japan.

Of course, Europe's sales taxes don't help -- 25% in places like Sweden... vs 8.25% in San Mateo, CA and 0% in Oregon...

If I come up with an idea of said iconage, I'll give it a go.

Yeah we know about gbax - they are literally just a couple of miles from my house!

In fact I'm awaiting a reply from them regarding becoming an affiliate - we may as well make something off the back of Merg's attempt to turn this place into DS Links! ;)
