Dan teh intarweb master moves too

Dan, like DoctorVee, has also had enough of Blogger and moved to a new site also using WordPress.

This time we don't even make his blogroll at all though never mind a top ten. I reckon ILuvNUFC must have been shooting puppies as well as battering kittens with shovels - there's no other way to explain our plummeting popularity.

I'm off to hang about on the fringes of society, all disenfranchised and disillusioned. Today I'll be mostly doing crack.

Spontaneous Combustion, a site at which i guest from time to time is also in the process of moving to Wordpress. But i can't get in to the interface to have a poke around as my password is incorrect and i'm waiting to be sent the new one from the boys. I shall keep you's updated as and when i can.

Blogger will do fine for me for linkdumping - most of the other solutions are better and much easier to customise (especially if you can code) but I'm happy with 'you get what you pay for'! I think we do all right for free. :)

Yup! Blogger will do for me too.
Is wordpress free?

Not sure - some of the packages do cost but there are open source ones which are free. But whatever way you go you'll have to pay for hosting and possible bandwidth overruns which means more cost - or zero site availability.

Mind you hosting is *really* cheap these days.

I've played with a few of them a while ago by installing Apache / PHP etc on my PC here and all of them are extremely customisable (by plugins / coding / sheer freedom of having a server to play with) so we could have categories, link voting, comment moderation and everything else you could possibly want. At the end of the day it comes down to stumping up some cash.

It's difficult enough to get most of the members to post never mind pay up a share of hosting / licencing costs! ;)

supermum remains free at the point of blogging and free at the point of access. With New Links on the link page of course, I couldn't possibly pretend that I didn't nick stuff from you.

I even attribute stuff to you that I found elsewhere which may be beyond the call of blogging dury

I prefer 'surreptitious transfer of ownership'! ;)

Christine: I've just noticed I have your No 1 Typo in the blogroll but not supermum. I'll sort that today at some point.
