Scrobbler Sig

After posting about AudioScrobbler the other day I've been playing with the RSS options for feeds of last tracks played etc. These were all quite neat but the best 'Last/Current Track' thing I've found so far is ScrobblerSig which is a PHP script for displaying a graphic with the latest track details for your account. The PHP can be installed on your own server or if you don't have access to a server you can access it like this:
http://ss.php4hosting.com/ss/
scrobblersig.php?username=mmchronic

You of course would change the username to your AudioScrobbler name. To embed the actual graphic on your blog (or your signature on forums) do a
<img src="http://ss.php4hosting.com/ss/scrobblersig.php?
username=mmchronic" />
and you get this

There are various parameters for changing the font / colours / text size / time zone / time format etc but I haven't found a definitive list yet. When I do I will update this post.

By the way, there are lots more options at the Audioscrobbler Wiki, but most of them are along the same lines, images.

I wouldn't dare use this for fear of the crap-music commnts...

I would fear that too if I had your 'taste' in music. ;)

DrV: I've checked out the others there and still like this one best due to not having to install any PHP (which we can't do here anyway). Someone is hosting the ScrobblerSig - all you have to do is the stuff outlined in the post.

you got skillz.

This from the man who has Kerrang TV on most of the time... Yes, those with genuine class are always outnumbered by the mob :>

Tho' lately any audio tracking would mostly point at BBC7's "listen again" stuff.

Kerrang is getting a bit passe. It has too much hippy shit on these days from the likes of GnR. :)

Seriously though - nowt the matter with Kerrang if you like the bands I like. At least the bands on there know how to play their instruments.

"Classic" Gn'R (which I liked) or newer live stuff, which is absolutely abysmal?

From what I've witnessed the "instruments" claim is debatable for about 50% of the bands on there...

I don't like Music channels much because they always seem to play the same six tunes over and over.

Mind you, if that means Eric Prydz "Call on Me" gets play, hitting mute and leaving the video to run isn't a bad thing...

Don't forget Stacey's Mom.

The GnR stuff is 'classic' stuff performed live for the most part if that makes sense.

When St Anger came it it was every other song on Kerrang for about a week - I fscking hate that song now. I suspect that was record company peeps requesting it constantly.

The bands I like can play their instruments.

All of St Anger was sh.... you know what. Metallica lost and and as yet, has not found it. (single had a decent vid tho').

I just flipped over to Hits and they're playing the Eric Prydz vid.. (well, not now.. now it's now the dodgy Bo Selecta offering for this year... *turns tv back off*).

... but that was on Hits 100% Xmas (at least according to the onscreen graphic) ... erm... that's someone's Christmas list, maybe?

or fantasy... ;)

I quite liked St Anger for the 1st day or so. Worryingly I'm starting to develop a taste for Slipknot. It's getting louder and heavier!

I don't know if I even seen Hits. The only two channels I watch for music are K! and MTV2. MTV1 used to get watched for Jackass but most definitely not for the music.

It's the usual mix of "kiddie populist crap" usually, but it's okay at weekends sometimes... I just flipped it on to see what they were running and it's meant to be a Christmas video juke-box affair... amusingly (but not surprisingly) the original Band Aid tune's getting more play than the new abomination -- I'm convinced the only reason the new one's popular is it's for char-i-dee...

If I worked for Hits I'd make sure every request that came in for BA20 would get diverted to be a request for Band Aid.

Heh.
Quite.

Bun then less "kiddies" might spend their parents hard-earned calling in... and that's what it's all about, sadly...

I'm back to UKHistory doing stuff about secret raids against Nazis. All good stuff.
