This piece about the Monkey Sphere explains why the world is in such a mess. Apparently it's all to do with the sizes of monkey brains. Our monkey brain can cope with 150 people - anyone outside that limit (your 'Monkey Sphere') doesn't count for our personal moral decisions so you can safely forget about them, abuse them or even kill them.
