Whilst praising Apple for it's sensible UK pricing for the iPod shuffle we always like even cheaper at New Links. So make your own Flash based player called the Minty MP3. It's called the Minty because it is housed in a mint tin but I'm sure we could swap it for a baccy tin and look geet hard as owt.
It uses Compact Flash for storage and can be written to via the serial port atm but it is intended to upgrade this to USB in the next revision. You can also attach the Compact Flash to your PC via the usual methods so you can dump mp3s directly.
