The CEO of Ultracade has trademarked the name and logo of MAME. Zophar's Domain speculates it may be to sue the authors of MAME. I reckon this manufacturer of multi rom arcade cabinets probably just wants the association with the best known multi rom arcade emulator. I'm guessing their machines are built around MAME anyway (the Ultracade flash site was too slow and unwieldy to navigate to try and find out for certain) so it is a natural progression to go for the cache of the MAME name but they could have used it without trademarking it. Strange. It'll be interesting to see how this one unfolds.
