World Exclusive!!!

Apparently my daughter's school (Hotspur Primary, Newcastle) has had a visit from Tony Blair today. We were told it was going to be someone from the education ministry but that was a security coverup thing. More to follow as soon as I get some details.

EDIT: Stuff popping up all over the place now.

EDIT 2: I've now seen my daughter and it seems Blair is scared to face questions from primary school kids now. Only selected pupils were allowed to ask questions, and those questions had been given to them by teachers, who presumably received them from the spin people. My daughter wasn't one of those selected - which is probably just as well as she wanted to ask him why we were doing what we are doing in Iraq.

He'd heard about the excellent Cully Tours that had been going on in the area!

ANd yes I saw them before they were deleted - I'm open to financial incentives to divulge/hide content. :)

I was interrupted by ILuvNufc junior when he came in from said school and he said Tony Blair was there but asking a 3 year old is very unreliable evidence. What has Your daughter said?.
Mrs ILuvNUFC said there was a police presence at school today.

So, the police were called... but did he escape or what?

These Blogger comments are crap.

mmChronic said...

What - because they left evidence of your stupidity after you deleted them? ;)

Doesn't matter if they are crap or not - they are staying. Especially after I hacked the code together for the new comment count.

As for Blair - hopefully the bairn gave him some abuse. She's certainly heard enough in the house! ;)

I've had numerous problems with commenting today.1 example : I posted a comment and got a page full of HTML shizzle which was NewLinks in HTML stylee.

For the very last time for the benefit of the hard of thinking:

The problems have been with Blogger's publishing back end. They have affected posts today too. The HTML shizzle happened with a republishing of a few of the archive pages too. It is not a comment thing. It is a Blogger thing. Either way - the comments are staying so you may as well stop whinging about them.

Guess what the single most requested feature on Haloscan is? The ability to have your comments on the same page as your post so you can see WTF people are actually commenting about. Can Haloscan do this? No. There are a few horrible hacks that people have done to achieve this. Me? I selected 'yes please' in Blogger. That alone outweighs every other drawback of the Bloggers comments - of which there are a few. But this number is reducing. We have some formatting now and we can do links - neither of which we had when it was launched a few days ago.

I may switch over at some point cos i know Haloscan is horrible. But at the mo i will stick with them :)

mmChronic said...

Haloscans should get better due to people moving over to Blogger so their servers should be able to cope a bit better. Plus they will have to start introducing featires to keep up with Bloggers - like post page with comments.

You know me though. I always like a play with new stuff. And hey I've learnt how to do cookie shizzle because of it! New Features coming soon... maybe. :)

I read your comment too, before you deleted it..!!!

There's no point in deleting things, when the ALL-SEEING-FLOATING-EYE is around...  ;)

Well if 2 of us have seen it would be unfair if everyone else didn't n'es ce pas?

It must be cool for you two working in an office where you can give full attention to NewLinks.I shall repeat my puny meaningless excuse for mis-reading the post - It is difficult when you are minding a 3 year old
(Especially my hyper Ninja Turtle) to give attention to anything else. ;-)

We are the kings of multitasking. Or something.

When you are sitting code there are frequent moments when you are waiting for a compile to finish so there are plenty of chances to have a look.

I don't know what Bungers' excuse is though! ;)
