The Blogger comments are down. Again. Haloscan working. That's 3-2 to Blogger.

My comment was to be :- Yes they still have flocks of Norwegian, Swedish and Japanese tourists visiting Byker. But only in the daytime. :)

Ooh and now the comments work :)

The comments weren't broke as a matter of fact. There were errors during publishing of that page and the indices. So when you tried to click the page it didn't exist at that point. Blogger is fairly cack on the publish thing so I always check after a post to see it has. If not, I republish and the problem is sorted. As for the students I wonder why only in the day? ;) And I bet were not stick with a cack 1000 character limit with these too. I'm arguing at SH too and having to take 2 posts. tsk.

I don't know where Haloscan is located but the time thing is because BS hasn't picked GMT as his timezone in his Haloscan account. Having said that when we used them we were an hour out due to Haloscan not adjusting for BST. You'll see that Blogger does. Another one for Blogger! Yay!

Boo! Hiss! Dirty Blogger. ;-)

Anyway, i'm off to listen to the toon.Probably back after the match if anyone is around.

mmChronic said...

I'm off to watch it. Yay! You should have come up.

..and Dogs for toon's next manager! Good game, but Champions League gone and UEFA cup looking dodgy. I agree about Robert and Viana but I want to see if Jenas could get back to what he was last season as he was class so yeah in the reserves he goes for a bit, he can play for a place instead of relying on Bobby's shared birthday. Caldwell had a couple of shots, but also did a couple of bad fouls including a nailed on penalty which wasn't given. Bramble made a similar number of errors but I prefer him over Caldwell. But O'Brien is the one who has been best with Woody for me. Dyer was ok especially considering his early return from a hamstring. Ambrose was superb and has been getting better and better the last few games. Maybe Bobby was right to sell Nobby after all? Would rather have had both of them though. Bridges couldn't fill a teapot never mind God's boots. Shola is the one. The strength on the ball for his goal, his trickiness when coming through crowds of players, his ability to get to high balls. He's got everything except experience. I do think Bridges is ok but his injuries have been constant for years and I just think if we give him a contract we are just going to pay him wages for nowt. Bowyer? Still a twat. I still cheered his goal though.

Danny Mills is a cnut.

mmChronic said...

Are we trying to go for a boxing team for next season instead of a football team? We might win something at least. I'd have Alan Smith at the toon if he is going for 50p or whatever.

bungers said...

I suppose if we sign Danny Mills it'll be good for the comedy value whenever we play Arsenal and he gets humiliated by Thierry Henry again. "Hey Bobby, what's the french for Twunt?"

mmChronic said...

Thicker than a ham and pease pudding stottie. I think he is an ok striker (certainly good enough for a squad player) and his crap tally this season may have something to do with the side he is playing in being shite? If he is going cheap we'd have to at least consider it.

Newcastle Photos said...

I would have Alan Smith too, but not Danny Mills. If we signed the two of them we would be well on our way to a thugs XI.

bungers said...

Come with me, as we journey back in time to the seventies and build a squad of the most thugs and racists we could find.... Geordies may be black and white, but you'll be black and blue. Or something... ;)

mmChronic said...

Thugs XI or just the ex Leeds 1st team? Or is that the same thing?

mmChronic said...

We are the Geordies, the Geordie boot boys, and we are mental, we are mad, and we're the loyalest football supporters the world has ever had.

My postman is a cnut. He (or she) keeps ramming the post through the letter box, and delivering stuff that is blatently not for me. You would think that 20 envelopes a week with bungers on them might suggest that bungers lives there. Delivering stuff with The Travel Company or The Printers on it might flick some switches in most people's vacuous skulls, but not ol' Postman Pat. I was away for the weekend the other day, so I hadn't emptied my mailbox, and "it" had just rammed stuff in there until you couldn't get anymore in. My copy of the Herald and Post was rendered almost completely useless by his/her nefarious bill stuffing ways... I might wire the letterbox up to the mains this week. That'll larn (sic) him! Fscker.

mmChronic said...

No need for a sic with larn as it's proper Geordie like - including the grammar.

Dogs: We're not being moralistic here. I've said I'd take Alan Smith who is a cnut. I wouldn't take Mills who is a cnut and not particularly good. Rejected on footy reasons not moralistic. Yes I made a big deal with Bowyer because I hate him - and only partially for the racism. The racist stick is just another big fsckoff stick to beat him with. Is it moralistic to hate someone?

link test.

I don't think the Post Office can get the staff any more. They are one of the most useless inept companies in this land.I thought that before i saw the documentary on TV last week.
The fsckin useless postman round our way delivers the wrong letters(i get at least one a week belonging to someone bugger else),they steal money out of cards addressed to my son, open my mail, leave the gate open, and finally, i think, i see a pile of elastic bands, just threw on the ground, on every street corner. All these things are beginning to really p155 me off.I feel pressure.Getting hot.I'm off to kill a postman, the B45t4rd5

mmChronic said...

Sensible debate? Here? WTF are you on? :)

As for postmen - ours is ok. He even shuts the gate behind him.

You lucky lucky b45t4rd

mmChronic said...

Yeah. We should also borrow a vicious dog which we can put in every garden just before he gets there.

I bet your posttwunt is the same as mine. I have an attack cat that you can use. Let's flip out on him, and use ninja skills on him.

WARNING: There now follwos a massive run-on posting due to brain-dead software that translates this post to html yet won't allow use of basic tags such as <p> or <br> for Anonymous posters. Paragraphs separated with excessive amounts of forced white-space, but if you CBA to read... well, I prolly couldn't be either.... <G>

Interesting comments re: last night's game.

Not sure about the Robert comments -- he's scored plenty and set up quite a few for Big Al. I think having him compete for his place would be a Good Thing[tm] tho'. Can't see him going abroad since his wages here are waaaaaay higher. Do we want to have to buy out his contract when we can light a fire under his Gallic behind? Esp if we keep him competing with Dyer for that spot.

I suspected a major dif. last night was Bowyer down the centre -- pure box-to-box, something we've sorely lacked all season from what little I've seen. And, presumably, Speed's replacement, at this point...

Agree about Viana tho' -- cut our (rather large) losses.

I get the feeling that Bramble Just-Isn't-Good-Enough, too... he looks okay alongside Woody but hell, *I* would look good along-side Woody. Maybe it's harsh and he's "Just Young", but he seems to make far, far too many mistakes.

Oh, and Bobby's substitutions are... downright bizarre in timing.

Just a fleeting visit and a highly opinionated, ill educated post/rant from your local friendly Merg[tm] -- why break the habits of a lifetime? <G>

Aha... the preview.... doesn't preview!

The preview showed it all running on as one block... and the final version does it properly.

Call me pedantic, but that's not what a preview is where I come from... sheesh.

The comments don't allow much html for any poster never mind anon. The only ones it accepts that we know of are a,i,b - not even a u!. I've just got it to start doing linebreaks in the settings with spacing it was one big stream of shite. Now it's a big stream of shite with pauses for breath. Yay!

This setting is global across the posts as well as the comments so a br in a post with a return after at is now in effect 2 brs. You're right about the preview though - it doesn't show your hard returns. Looks ok in the edit box with returns though so I use that for layout(?).

Bowyer is looking much better than he did but that's not hard. He's still a 1st class twat though. Sell him for catfood and buy Nicky Butt - or maybe JJ of old will come back?

Bramble does make mistakes because he totally dozes at time but he can do an excellent tackle, can really flatten someone if he wants to, isn't bad in the opposition box, his long passes to the wings are sometimes nothing short of spectacular and as you say he is still young. I'd keep him. But as I said before O'Brien gets the nod before him on current form.

Robert had a belter patch for about 8 games. Either side of that he has been absolutely shite. Lazy fscker stands about with his thumb up his arse as Bernard gets swamped. I'd rather sell Robert (or claim insurance for the 'accident' that may befall him) and spend £1.2m on this bloke and spend the change on sweets. Or something.

I too think it's maybe time for a change of manager. We are going to have to rebuild heavily soon when Speed and Shearer are gone which isn't too far off. Should we allow Bobby to spend money on players when a new manager in a season or two just scraps a lot of the purchases? I think Bobby is great but it could be time to move on.

Anonymous said...

Well, the comments stuff sucks then :>

Re: Robert, without his "belter patch", we'd be right in the... ah... clarts -- tho' I agree he's lazy. Seems to be a French thang... Ginola, anyone? OTOH, if he has to fight for his place...

Bramble's made some horrendous mistakes in the last year. It seems to be a concentration problem rather than a lack of ability, but that just makes it all the more frustrating.

I don't think selling Bowyer's a great idea given Speed will be damn' lucky to get another season in -- and his passing is frequently atrocious.

Ranieri will likely be looking for a job soon.... Mourinho's supposedly wanting to move on from Portugal to the "bigger" leagues, although he may not be keen given how little cash will likely be on the table for new faces.

I agree with getting Gronk., btw - he seems a bargain at that price, and we're surely still more attractive to a new signing than the Brummies... if nothing else, at least we don't have that 'orrible nasal whine :>

As for the change on sweets... I didn't know we'd signed Gazza again?
