Follow Up : KFC versus the rest of the world

The b3ta stuff yesterday reminded me of this story from BBC NEWS about how there ain't no KFC in Tibet because KFC's parent company, Yum Brands (a potential Best Ever Company Name™ contender?), "does not think it would be profitable".

Might it have had something to do with the letter the Dalai Lama wrote to Yum Brands saying "mass slaughter of chickens violated Tibet's traditional values"..?

Yum Brands says that the decision was taken some time ago, before the Dalai Lama's intervention.

I would have thought a Chinese invasion would also have "violated Tibet's traditional values". A stiff letter didn't stop them though.

I'm off to open a KFC in Lhasa.

The KFC logo always makes me laugh.
It looks like the Col. has a big head and very small blue arms and legs.
