Newcastle make Rooney bid

Fat Freddy attempting to please the fans with a false bid for Rooney? Next we bid 15p For Beckham to pretend we really are after some 'world class' players without any danger of a bid being accepted.

Both The Sun and The Mirror are reporting we're upping the bid today, with The Sun claiming £24m and The Mirror claiming £22m.

The Sun also claimed we were willing to go to the full £30m if need be.

The Times claims it's all part of a plot to help out Man Utd. -- because, of course, Football revolves around them...

Oops, forgot to add...

Since The Sun and The Times come from the same stable, does this mean *shock, horror* they don't really know what's going on?

Geez, 'papers lying, whoda thunkit?

It makes Newcastle sense to sell the best centre half in the world, possibly, then try to buy a striker.
Though i would'nt knock him back.
You're probably right when you say Fat Fred knows we won't get him.

... or maybe he thinks if he can get him for £20m he can flog him to Man U or Real for £30m next summer... ;)

It's "Geordie Minder!"

Starring Fat Fred as Arfur Daley!

Wonder who that makes Terry McCann...

Did'nt you know God is getting the Terry job until he takes over as manager.

RE Minder : We would probably sell him for £21M minus his wages while here blah blah mumble grumble

I wouldn't mind Rooney at the toon either - but I don't think is serious for a minute.

And if it is true what the fsck are we doing bidding 20+m for another striker? We need a couple of central defenders.

Weren't you the one always saying Shearer'd make a good defender tho? ;)

We're supposedly chasing Coventry's Calum Davenport, too.

And the Dawson rumours persist, of course...

And then there's the Yobo rumours...
