Newcastle force Sir Bobby Robson out

As predicted the other day by ILuvNufc dropping Shearer turned out to be Bobby's last managerial decision as news comes that NUFC have sacked Sir Bobby. As I commented the other day if this was coming (and it's been plain that it has by the various statements by Fat Fred and Sir Bobby) why wasn't it done in summer? Now we have to fsck about with getting a new manager in on top of all the other shit that is going on.

Worst still though are the rumours I've heard that the new management team will consist of Terry Venables and God. I sincerely hope this isn't true - I don't want to see that cockney wide boy within a hundred miles of the toon. It'll be just be our luck that as soon as he got appointed his financial dealings will once again be under scrutiny by the media or the tax man will be sniffing round again.

I for one would like to wish Sir Bobby all the best. He came and steadied Newcastle after the shite Gullit and Dalglish reigns and has to be thanked for that least. He did seem to be losing the plot towards the end - but given he was getting his best players sold from under him and new ones coming in weren't his choices, the ongoing 'rifts' in the dressing room and who knows what else it was inevitable this day would come.

Only at the toon, eh?

The rumour I've seen doing the rounds is Houllier.

We, as they say, shall see.

Still, if ever it were in doubt, this kills any chance of Rooney coming here stone dead.

It seems that those who knaa nowt are making their gobs go anyway.

Of course, the stirrers who have been prompting these very events for weeks now decry the club too...

Houllier? Eek!

All hail El Tel, Lord of the toon.

Can't say I relish either, tbh...

Me neither - but lesser of two evils and all that...

Supposedly, Houllier has since been on Sky saying he knows nowt about it.

And in similar news, FF was quoted in the Manchester Evening News as saying we were out of the running for Rooney -- something about being better to have tried and lost than not have tried at all.

So... couldn't win an argument.

I think Bobby's reign was over at the end of last season as that is when FF started making noises about it being his last season etc. Echoing the main post, i would also like to thank SBR for his time and effort and i agree he began to lose the plot a while back. I still think he has been treated terribly and he deserved better.
Shame we could'nt sack FF too, the useless fat horrible bastard that he is.

YAY! Once again NewLinkers in complete agreement.
The end is nigh :)

Nice compliment from Space Hardware eh?

I wandered by and thanked him.

As a Leeds fan - deja vu!!!!

Board gambling the club by spending tons on players in the hope that you'll get Champions League footy, manager loses the dressing room and possibly the plot as well, supposed 'top class' players being bought and not performing, a team of young players seemingly intent on being on first-name terms with the local Police, Woody being sold (!) and now being linked with Mr Venables!!!

Next thing you know - Nicky Barmby'll be signing for you...... Good luck boys.

AAAAARGH! There has even been talk of O'Leary here. Our world is about to end!
Never mind, we will always have this which caused this.

Relax. We've not leased any players.

Or hired Peytar Reid.

Yet.

Or hired any fish in the club colours.

I'm off to lease Freddie some angel fish.
