Sony Vaio Pocket is new iPod rival...

I find your lack of faith in OSX disturbing. No picture, but it is rumoured to have a colour, touch sensitive screen and a 20 hour battery life. Will cost lots of money. Read all about it here.

Engadget has some really good E3 coverage today. You should check it out. It's got lots of shots of the Nintendo DS.

And they've also got this. I want!

BTW... and this is a newlinks Bizarre Request of the Day, but has anyone got, or can get access to some of those scales that you might use to (for example) hang a big fish that weighed about 30lbs (old english money kids!) on...??? I just need to borrow some for five minutes, to weigh something (funnily enough) that weighs about 30lbs. Thanks. I figured what with dogs being an angler, he might have some... ;)

Dogs is a fisherman not an angler. A 30lb scale would be no good on an ocean going trawler! :)

Re the Sony iPod - it's using some proprietary DRM'd to fsck music format (ATRAC3?) due to Sony's music arm flexing it's muscle over it's gadget arm - even though the gadget arm is Sony's core business. I read that somewhere on the net so it must be true. Probably.

Atrac 3 is just the latest minidisc compression format... it plays WMA and mp3 too, but I hear what you are saying. It'll never be as good. ;)
