A Rover employee decided he wanted to build a robot based on parts from the Mini Cooper r50 which he acquired because "BMW overbuilds many of their parts, so the over-building of certain Mini applications for my robotics use went unnoticed". But that's ok because it's all in the pursuit of science. Yay!
