Enjoy.

So, last night I built my B-wing (pictures to follow) and look what turned up this morning! --->

So this is what I'll be doing tonight!
p.s. The B-wing is very cool. I dunno if it's the same scale as my x-wing, but my rebel fleet is nearly complete. All I need now is the Millenium Falcon... :)

Bono To Buy Take-Two? Mad Jack Begs Him Not To...
posted by mmChronic @ 10:32:00 AM

Apparently a group of investors which includes U2 frontman Bono is interested in buying Take-Two Interactive, which is of course the company behind GTA.
And, as with anything GTA related, we find publicity leech Jack Thompson trying to get in on the action by writing an open letter to Bono begging him not to buy it.
I reckon Jack is just scared that Bono (if he is a mad jeebusian) will cancel Take-Two's 'murder simulators' then Jack won't have any bandwagon to jump on anymore. Or something.

I write you as a fellow brother in Jesus Christ, appreciative of your bold witness to the transforming truth of the Gospel, in both your words and your deeds. You daily "fight the good fight," serving Him as salt and as light in an unbelieving world. You inspire other Christians to confront the "culture of death" that surrounds us all, and I thank you. Because of what you do, it is easier for me to do what I have been called to do.

Boycott Egypt
posted by mmChronic @ 9:17:00 AM

If any militant muslims are looking for another target they may be interested to know a paper in another country published the same cartoons as the ones published in the Danish paper, Jyllands-Posten. Not only that, they were published during Ramadan last year.
Can you remember all the fuss in Egypt when an Egyptian paper, Al-Faqr, published the 'offensive' and 'blasphemous' cartoons? No, me neither. That's because there was no protest whatsoever. It smacks of outrage being stirred up by anti-western agitators. Surprise, surprise.
If you've missed the cartoons Michelle Malkin has the complete set - and if you want to see more images of Mahomet check out the Muhammad Image Archive which has lots more including many sourced from the islamic world.
In the meantime, Denmark (and other Scandinavian countries) are suffering the econonomic and diplomatic fallout. There's not a lot we can do about the diplomatic side but we can do something about the economic side.

Buy Danish! I'm off for a bacon sandwich (dripping with Lurpak), Danish pastry and a box of Lego. And some XXXX pron.
This post was really written by Bungers. Probably. BWAHAHAHAHA! ;)

Google Maps Update UK Satellite Images
posted by mmChronic @ 9:23:00 AM

Huzzah! Google Maps have finally updated their satellite image coverage of the UK!
That there London has always been shown in high res but when you came north the images were atrocious - some sort of purple and green goo. Now you can see my house in hi res glory. I'm a bit puzzled though as to the source of the images - they must be at least a couple of years old (The yard linked to here hasn't been full of vans for at least 2-3 years and NTL haven't sponsored the toon for at least 2 seasons now) so why haven't we had them earlier? BUSH looking for evidence of WMD? Or has Google just went out and bought someone else's existing satellite images? They must be using their own satellite to spy on the Chinese people. Or something.

So, here's the deal...
My gas bill has gone up this year from about £20 a month to £40. The electricity has gone up to £50. Petrol is up at about 90p a litre or something now too. And in the middle of all this, Shell post record profits following on from Exxon's record last week.
What's even more impressive is that Shell said production
fell to 3.5 million barrels of oil from 3.84 million for the same period of 2004. So they produced less, but made more money! How does that work?

IE7 Beta Goes Public
posted by mmChronic @ 6:14:00 PM
Microsoft have released a public beta of IE7. You need to have XP Pro SP2 installed and be fully patched (or at least as fully as MS have patched it anyway!) on your current IE install.
I had a quick try at work today and it looks alright. They've obviously took a lot of inspiration from FF but that's no bad thing. I don't know how secure it is compared to current versions but it still runs ActiveX so many would say not very secure at all.
It's got some sort of anti phishing tool which basically calls back to MS who presumably have a big database of scam sites to check it against. Eeks - MS having a history of your browsing doesn't sound very appealing.
The neatest thing I saw in it was a preview page of all your tabs - it has a thumbnail of each website you have open which is a nice quick way of navigating between tabs.
It's worth a peek - but be careful where you visit while using it. If there are any exploitable holes you can bet there'll be people writing exploits for it right now.
