AOL Just Got Even Crapper

AOL, who are already famous for ad laden, sluggish services with all the speed and flexibilty of a dead dog are going to pull a service that every other ISP gives you - access to UseNet. If you're based in the UK you shouldn't use AOL anyway - they are defrauding you (or your country anyway) of millions in pounds in taxes.

The Sun are excluded from VAT because they are allegedly content providers as is any magazine, newspaper, TV station or evil global propaganda machine.

AOL claim to be a content provider rather than a comms provider - yet their main business is providing comms so should have to pay VAT just like every other ISP operating in Britain. The gubmint shoudl force them to operate separately in this country. Let the cotent provision side stay VAT free and start charging VAT on ISP services - this country would make loads more in tax. Greeedy Amerkin fsckers.

You don't have to convince me on AOL - why Customs and Excise seem to be taking their crappy excuse is beyond me.

Re the Sun tax - yeah that's corporation tax etc - I'd forgotten about their tax evasion on that one. I was purely on about VAT.

I try to avoid paying for Sky services whenever I can - I've successfully avoided paying for Sky Sports yet seem to have full access to it in my house. How the fsck did that happen. ;)

I think we should have done with it for ever more. Hang Murdoch and dissolve News International. Which will of course be replaced by the New Links Media Group. Probably.

That's a very cynical view to hold. As you should know cynicism has no place on NewLinks! ;)

We can't do that - I wouldn't be able to post anything ever again! ;)
